Key difference from Type 6: The unit DOES have particle-based mechanism throughout - kinetic-particle model of heat, particle collisions for conduction, light absorption as energy transfer to particle KE. Note on the unit's strongest pedagogical move: The substance-model misconception (cold-as-substance, heat-as-substance) is surfaced as a claim to be tested in Lesson 14's Evidence Sorting Activity - not endorsed as the curriculum's own claim.
